Sleepy King bunny D.I.Y

What You Need
Fringed wool scarf, 20 inches (50.8 cm) or longer
Heavy weight fusible interfacing, same dimensions as scarf
Felt scraps for the face and ears
2 plastic safety eyes, 12 mm
Embroidery floss for the nose and mouth
1 small bag of polyfill stuffing
Basic Sewing Kit (page 14)
Finished Size
12 inches tall x 5 inches wide at the base (30.5 x 12.7 cm)
Seam Allowance
1⁄4 inch (6 mm) unless otherwise noted

What You Do
1
Enlarge the templates and cut them out.
2
Decide which side of the scarf will be the right side, and fuse
the fusible interfacing to the wrong side, following the manufacturer’s
instructions.
3
Fold the fabric in half, right sides together. Place the body pattern
on a side with interfacing fused to it and trace around the pattern.
Cut through both fabric layers to create two body pieces.
Trace and cut two ears and one face from the felt.
4
With all of the pieces right side up, pin the face and ears to one
of the body pieces. To achieve the slightly off-center look, allow
the right edge of the face piece to overlap the right edge of the
body (it will later be enclosed in the seam allowance). Topstitch
all three felt pieces to the body, stitching as close as you can to
the edges.
Tail Spin
7
With right sides facing, pin the two body
pieces together. Stitch around the edges of the
body, leaving an opening 3 inches (7.6 cm)
wide at the bottom. Trim or clip the curved
seam allowance (page 24).
8
Turn the body right side out through the opening
and stuff it with polyfill. Use a point turner
to push into the ears and shape the seams. If
adding a tail (see box), hand sew it in place
with floss before sewing the opening closed.

Peek-A-Boo Bunny & Lily Lavender the spring fox

I added two new items in the shop yesterday. The purple fox is my favorite! I rarely use purple + pinks in my work, but I'm going to start because people like those colors! Sometimes I forget because I'm not a HUGE fan of them. I do like them, but for some reason I'm always drawn to orange, yellow, & teal colors. I LOVE my new embroidered wall hanging too. Is it wrong that I love my own work? I hope not. I combined three different vintage fabrics on the wall hanging. An orange flannel with little creme flowers, an orange cotton with little shamrocks, and an orange/peach polyester gingham print. The bunny is hand embroidered with pretty brownish/orange cotton thread.

I plan on making a lot of these new little embroidered wall hangings. Should I attach ribbon to the metal part for hanging? Or should I leave that up to the buyer. I suppose I could offer the ribbon and if they didn't like it they could always remove it. Anyway, expect to see more of this type of work. I really enjoy embroidering! Should I make a book of Sleepy King embroidered art in the future? Maybe.. Maybe..

Have a good Friday!
